Accessibility statement
Our commitment
TruckerPass is built for people who drive for a living, and a large share of our users read this site on a phone, in a cab, in bright sun or at night. Accessibility is not a checkbox for us — it is a core requirement. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across this website and the app.
1. What is implemented on this website
- Colour contrast. Body and interface text is verified against the WCAG 2.2 AA thresholds (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and non-text UI). Amber is used as a text colour only in a form that passes contrast; as a button fill it is always paired with dark ink.
- Keyboard operation. Every interactive control — navigation, the language selector, the theme switcher, the mobile menu, the diagnostic quiz and the FAQ accordion — is reachable and operable with a keyboard alone, in a logical order.
- Visible focus. A clear focus ring is shown on every focusable element. We never remove an outline without replacing it.
- Skip link. A "skip to main content" link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
- Status is never colour-only. Correct and incorrect quiz answers carry a tick or cross glyph and a text label, not just green or red.
- Screen-reader announcements. Quiz feedback and the final score are exposed in a live region so they are announced without moving focus. The mobile menu reports its expanded state.
- Reduced motion. All animation, scroll effects and hover transforms are disabled when your operating system is set to reduce motion.
- Two colour themes. Daylight and Midnight, so you can choose the contrast that works in your environment. The site follows your operating system preference and falls back to Daylight when no preference is available.
- Text scaling. Layout is built on relative units and reflows up to 200% zoom and at a 320 px viewport width without loss of content or horizontal scrolling of the page.
-
Semantic structure. Landmarks, a single
h1per page, a logical heading order, realbutton, tableanddetailselements, and labelled form fields. - No reliance on third parties. No embedded videos, iframes, ad slots or third-party widgets, which removes a whole class of accessibility and privacy problems.
2. The app
The iOS and Android apps support operating-system text scaling, screen readers (VoiceOver and TalkBack), reduced-motion settings, a high-contrast Cab theme, and non-colour-only answer feedback. The app's interactive targets meet a 48 pt minimum, and primary actions sit in the lower thumb zone.
3. Known limitations
- Spanish and Punjabi page translations. The site's body copy is currently English. Language switching affects the interactive quick check and the app itself, not yet every static paragraph. This is the next accessibility and localisation item on our list.
- Comparison table on very small screens. The table restacks into labelled cards below 720 px. On unusual zoom and width combinations it may still require horizontal scrolling.
- PDF content. We do not currently publish PDFs. If we add any, they will be tagged and provided with an HTML alternative.
- Formal audit. This statement is based on our own testing against WCAG 2.2 AA criteria, including keyboard-only navigation, screen-reader passes and automated contrast checks. It is not yet backed by an independent third-party audit.
4. Compatibility
The site is tested in current versions of Safari (macOS and iOS), Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and with VoiceOver on iOS and macOS. It works without JavaScript except for the interactive quick check, and it does not require a mouse.
5. Tell us about a barrier
If something here gets in your way, we want to know — it is a bug, not an inconvenience. Email support@truckerpass.app with the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened. We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and to fix confirmed barriers in the next release. If you need information from this site in another format, ask and we will provide it.
6. How this statement was prepared
Self-assessment against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, combining automated tooling with manual keyboard and screen-reader testing of every page. This statement is reviewed whenever the site changes materially, and at least once a year.
